Mathematics @ Universitas Indonesia
Hi, I'm Putra, a Math undergraduate at Universitas Indonesia with an interest in quantitative
thinking, Artificial Intelligence, and real-world problem solving. I'm fascinated by how mathematical
ideas can be modeled, analyzed, and transformed into practical solutions across domains like learning, financial
markets, and research.
My projects usually begin with a question like Can I make the solution much easier? Or
make it much more efficient? That curiosity has led me to build market intelligence
tools, adaptive learning systems, and AI-assisted research
platforms that transform complex problems into practical software.
Learning, to me, is an iterative process. Building projects is how new ideas are explored, assumptions are
tested,
and understanding grows over time. AI has become an important part of that workflow, making it easier to
prototype
and iterate quickly, while mathematics remains the foundation for how I reason about complex problems.
Reviewing official letters from department-level student organizations before they go up to the faculty. Every event letter needs BPM approval first, so the job is checking each document for the right format, completeness, and compliance, then clearing it for the Chairman's signature. The same routine that Cek Surat was built to automate.
Actively networking with industry professionals to build connections and gain career insight. Regularly joins knowledge-sharing sessions with peers covering technical trends and best practices. Uses the community as an ongoing channel to stay current on tools and approaches outside the classroom.
Overseeing the complete design workflow for all Math League 2026 social media platforms. Held final sign-off on every piece of design content before it went live, balancing visual consistency with turnaround speed. Worked closely with the broader team to keep the competition's public-facing identity sharp across the whole run.
Promoting LOGIKA UI's activities and competitions directly to high schools. Traveled to schools to present and pitch the competition to students, handling the public-facing side of outreach. Helped build early excitement and turnout for the event well ahead of competition day.
Managing the end-to-end design process for PDM 2025's documentation. Produced and coordinated visual materials covering the entire department introduction event. Presented the department introduction directly to incoming Mathematics freshmen at Universitas Indonesia.
Running the complete design workflow for all Eksposebas social media platforms. Held final responsibility for the quality and approval of every design uploaded under the event. Set the visual direction for the event's entire public-facing presence.
Planned the agenda for every club meeting and built the presentation materials participants learned from. Kept sessions structured so members actually practiced the language instead of just attending.
Peer-tutored fellow students through the mathematics and chemistry chapters they struggled with most. Broke lessons down into focused walkthroughs of specific topics and stayed with each student until the concepts actually held.
Advanced to the semifinals of YED UI's Business Case Competition with team Casecrafters (three people). The case: helping PT Bina Pertiwi, an Astra Group company that distributes Komatsu forklifts, choose between lead-acid, lithium, and hydrogen power. We recommended lithium-ion and hydrogen fuel cells as the long-term play, backed by emissions, safety, and total-cost analysis.
View certificate ↗Finalist in the Undergraduate Category. Developed and presented a strategic recommendation for Garuda Indonesia to improve customer conversion through pricing transparency, payment accessibility, and loyalty initiatives, supported by market and financial analysis.
View certificate ↗From market prediction to learning tools, each project turns a messy problem into something people can use.
Data Science capstone: can commodity and crypto markets help predict whether the Nasdaq-100 (QQQ) closes up or down tomorrow? With only ~985 trading days of data, the model also had to stay small enough not to overfit.
Screened ten assets by correlation and kept the four carrying independent signal: copper, lithium, uranium, and Bitcoin. Engineered stationary log-return features (ADF-tested), fed 3-day lags into a compact 32-16 MLP with dropout, and used a chronological 80/20 split with explicit leakage checks.
56.85% directional accuracy on unseen data, better than a coin flip with statistical significance (binomial p = 0.032). The size of each move stayed unpredictable (negative R²), and the report says so plainly: the signal is in the direction, not the magnitude.
Graph theory capstone: Universitas Indonesia to Blok M can be reached through dozens of KRL, MRT, LRT, and Transjakarta combinations, and the cheapest route is rarely the fastest. Which one is optimal when fare and time both matter?
Modeled the network as an Ostensive Public Transportation Graph: stations and vehicle types as nodes, edges weighted by distance and travel time, with a fare function per mode (flat, distance-stepped, or per-station). Both objectives were min-max normalized into one score, F = 0.5Fp + 0.5Ft, then Dijkstra found the minimum-score path.
Ranked ten candidate routes and surfaced the optimum: Rp9,500 and 49.3 minutes over 20.9 km with two transfers, via KRL to Manggarai and Sudirman, then Transjakarta to Blok M. The winning route is also the outright cheapest of the ten.
Ten explorations in AI, neuroscience, transit, learning, and everyday tools. Pick one to look closer.
A research workspace where eight AI models share one thread. Switch between core chat models and health or finance specialists, research the web with sources, and turn PDFs or topics into quizzes, flashcards, or mind maps. KaTeX renders equations, Pyodide runs Python in-browser, and conversations can branch from earlier messages. Zen Room keeps reflection separate from study and work.
A private ASL fingerspelling reader that runs entirely in the browser tab. MediaPipe tracks 21 hand landmarks, and a TensorFlow.js classifier commits a letter once the same handshape holds steady across frames, so the camera feed never leaves your machine. Type a word to watch it spelled back as handshapes, or open practice mode to drill the tricky letters until they stick.
A browser-based Indonesian Sign Language fingerspelling tool. MediaPipe tracks hands and a TensorFlow.js model classifies static A–Z handshapes on-device. Learners can explore one- and two-handed forms in 3D, spell words, and practice letters. Evaluation is based on source photos; signer-independent accuracy and live-camera performance have not been established.
Scrabble against a fly's mushroom body. Every candidate board is pushed through 173,587 measured synapses (146 projection neurons, 2,580 Kenyon cells, 48 output neurons) with only the last layer trained. The honest finding: real wiring scores 50.15% on held-out games, a shuffled control 50.68%, so the circuit only breaks ties. Move generation, inference, and canvas animation all run locally.
Proofreader for official student-org letters at FMIPA UI. Upload a .docx or PDF (or paste a Drive link) and it detects the document type, compares it against the official templates, and flags changed template text, unfilled blanks, PUEBI spelling violations, and day names that don't match their dates, all highlighted in place and ready to copy as a revision message.
A dark satirical governance simulator. You govern one of 25 real cities through a 12-turn term, balancing approval, scandals, a public budget, and an off-books wallet that pays for every dirty move. Advisors remember how you treat them, and a rolling scrutiny meter remembers every deal.
The transit capstone, rebuilt as a live route optimiser for Universitas Indonesia to Blok M. KRL, MRT, LRT, and TransJakarta form a weighted graph with real fares and Google Maps travel times. Dijkstra with a mode-change penalty, Yen's k-shortest paths, and a Pareto front on fare versus time, all in the browser. Drag the weight, close any station, and watch the engine reroute along a schematic map drawn in the style of Jakarta's official integration map. Bilingual, no framework, no backend.
A fruit fly's heading circuit, running live in the browser. 147 compass neurons and 2,529 measured connections from the FlyWire v783 connectome, simulated as a ring attractor you can orbit in 3D, turn with a slider, and break by shuffling the wiring. No framework, no backend, no synthetic fallback: the page verifies the binary's checksum before it draws a single neuron.
Net worth tracker built with Streamlit: stocks, crypto, gold, and cash across every account, priced live in one base currency and logged as daily snapshots. A built-in analyser scans any ticker against 27 entry/exit signals, fundamentals, and a Monte Carlo fan. No email or password, just a 6-character token to log back in from any device.
Everyday math in a scroll feed that keeps going, built for Indonesians from school age upward. Six topics problems and daily games: a shared challenge everyone gets the same day, and Tebak Hitung, a Wordle-style hunt for a hidden equation in six tries. Hearts, streaks, and XP levels per topic, saved on the device with no account needed.
